Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based care to critically ill infants.
- Act as a clinical leader by assessing, planning, delegating, and using independent judgment to direct other healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in hourly rounding and follow safety guidelines and best practices.
- Supervise and mentor other members of the healthcare team.
Position Summary
The NICU Registered Nurse Charge RN provides professional, compassionate nursing care to neonates within our Level III NICU. This role coordinates care planning with the multidisciplinary team and renders individualized, age-specific, and direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs. The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to support optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school. Preferred Education: BSN.
- Minimum Experience: At least 2 years of current hospital-based acute care RN experience in a NICU.
Licensure/Certifications: Current RN license in the State of Arizona (or compact license), CPR, NRP (required upon orientation completion). ACLS as applicable by facility/department.
